From Bradenton.com here are some reasons to get outside this weekend. Just incase you needed an excuse to enjoy the wonderful area we live in!
Kayaking: The American Littoral Society offers guided kayak tours in Manatee and Sarasota counties. I love Kayaking plus it is a great full body workout. Reservations are required. For more information and launch locations, contact John Sarkozy at 966-7308.
The Manatee County Natural Resources Department will host a special Wild Florida 101 “Ghosts of the Past,” 6-8 p.m. March 12. Participants will take a flashlight hike through the woods at night to learn about the historical Rye Preserve settlement and celebrate the creatures of the night such as snakes, spiders and slugs. The program is suitable for participants ages 16+ and will end with a campfire marshmallow roast. Reservations are required. Admission: free. Information: 742-5757, ext. 5. I think this sound more fun than spooky. Night walks can be fascinating. Make sure you bring a friend you can hold on to if you get scared
Check out some of these great outdoor events this weekend. It’s gogin to be a pretty one (I hope)
